Rula Galayini is a reflection of the woman who wears it: strong, edgy, and sensual; a power-bag and a contemporary statement piece. Her collections are designed for the everyday, yet tailored for the surprises that one never expects. With its playful metal work, buttery leathers, streamlined geometric designs and contrasting colors, her bags are as distinct and remarkable as the women who carry them.

 

Rula’s beginnings stem from her native Lebanon, where she unearthed and redefined the country’s artisanal roots, using the signature oriental and arabesque latticework that adorns the surface of historical structures.  She draws inspiration from Lebanon’s bounty of natural wonders and rich millennia-old artistic heritage that has aroused the creativity and genius of prominent artists across the centuries.

 

HuffPost Fashion decreed the Rula Galayini signature Cuff Collection as the ‘it’ bag  of Paris Fashion Week 2014, while Vogue UK celebrated Rula as one of the top 100 designers to look out for in the coming year. You can also spot Rula’s minimalist and modern accessories on the red carpet, being rocked far and wide by the likes of Rocsi Diaz, Carmen Lillyand Jo Whiley. They have also stolen the show on the hit teen TV series The Carrie Diaries.

The Chrysalis Collection

Pieces under this collection are inspired by change and interactivity. A harmonious marriage of both form and function, the designs allow for variations in colour and function to be made within one single design.

 

The Poupee Collection

This is where it all started. To tell the story of the modern Arab women. Designs in this collection are characterised by the concealing and revealing of vibrant colours and material layering.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Born in Lebanon and raised in Canada, Rula Galayini is the creative force behind Rula Galayini. She entered the world of design in her home country where she graduated from the American University of Beirut with a degree in Graphic Design. With her ever-present passion for design and fashion, Ghalayini took on the roles of Art Director at Leo Burnett and Creative Director at MTV, positions that taught her the importance of building a strong brand identity. Her accomplishments in advertising and design served as a great influence for Ghalayini, showing her that to be successful is a result of creating a distinct identity that people can relate to.

Inspired by both her Lebanese and Canadian backgrounds, Ghalayini’s success is credited to her ability to create a distinct style that uniquely blends eastern and western culture. Unexpected yet amusing, Rula Galayini  offers pieces that the universal woman can appreciate.
